About

My name is Lori Morris.  I wear a lot of hats (although I almost never wear actual hats).  I’m first and foremost a Christian – far from perfect, but saved by my perfect savior and His perfect sacrifice.  I try to do the best I can in this walk we call life.  I’m also a certified nurse-midwife, a veteran of the United States Navy, a wife, and a mom to three beautiful children.  I found myself in a phase of my life in which my heart’s desire and what I feel God’s will for me is to be at home raising my children.

I got my BSN at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee and my MSN at Frontier Nursing University, based out of Hyden, Kentucky.  I have experience in: labor & delivery, postpartum care, well baby care, neonatal intensive care, lactation, doula support, medical/surgical, infection control, research, and emergency medicine.  I have attended women during their births in both hospital and birth center settings.  While I have not attended any home births as a provider, I have had two of my three babies at home.

The name HouseMidwife came from me being a “housewife” and a midwife.  This website will bring you information from both of those roles.  I love being a mommy and I love coffee.  You’ll hear about both of those here, too.  I am down-to-earth and approachable, so if you have questions, let me know and tell me about yourself while you’re at it! 😊

Please tell your friends about HouseMidwife, bookmark this page, like my Facebook page, and follow me on Twitter.  We have live chats on my Facebook page, so make sure to like my page over there and turn on notifications so you don’t miss anything even if the other platforms aren’t for you.  Finally, please subscribe to my email list to be sure you get all the latest updates!

Thank you for coming!  I’m looking forward to this journey with you!
