My name is Lori Morris. I wear a lot of hats (although I almost never wear actual hats). I’m first and foremost a Christian – far from perfect, but saved by my perfect savior and His perfect sacrifice. I try to do the best I can in this walk we call life. I’m also a certified nurse-midwife, a veteran of the United States Navy, a wife, and a mom to three beautiful children. I found myself in a phase of my life in which my heart’s desire and what I feel God’s will for me is to be at home raising my children.
I got my BSN at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee and my MSN at Frontier Nursing University, based out of Hyden, Kentucky. I have experience in: labor & delivery, postpartum care, well baby care, neonatal intensive care, lactation, doula support, medical/surgical, infection control, research, and emergency medicine. I have attended women during their births in both hospital and birth center settings. While I have not attended any home births as a provider, I have had two of my three babies at home.
The name HouseMidwife came from me being a “housewife” and a midwife. This website will bring you information from both of those roles. I love being a mommy and I love coffee. You’ll hear about both of those here, too. I am down-to-earth and approachable, so if you have questions, let me know and tell me about yourself while you’re at it! 😊
